Eyeliner Post-Care Instructions
Keep the Area Clean
Gently clean the treated area with a mild, unscented cleanser and lukewarm water. Avoid harsh scrubbing or rubbing.
Do not use any makeup or eye products for at least 7-10 days after the procedure to prevent infection.
Avoid Touching the Eyeliner
Do not touch, rub, or pick at the eyeliner tattoo. This can introduce bacteria and cause infection, as well as affect the final appearance.
Ointment
Apply a thin layer of healing ointment or aftercare cream recommended by your technician. This helps keep the area moisturized and speeds up healing.
Avoid Water, Steam, and Sweat
For at least 7-10 days, avoid swimming, hot tubs, saunas, and excessive sweating (e.g., intense workouts) to prevent bacteria from getting into the area.
Avoid Sun Exposure
Protect your eyes from the sun for the first 2 weeks after your procedure. Wear large sunglasses with UV protection when outdoors to prevent fading and irritation.
No Eyelash Extensions or Mascara
Do not use mascara, eyelash extensions, or eyelash curlers for at least 2 weeks after the procedure. These can irritate the healing tattoo.
Avoid Sleeping on Your Face
Try to sleep on your back to prevent any rubbing or pressure on the tattooed area during the healing process.
Don’t Peel or Scrub
As the area heals, the skin may flake or scab slightly. Allow the scabs to fall off naturally—do not pick or scratch them, as this can cause scarring and affect the result.
Monitor for Infection
Keep an eye out for signs of infection, such as excessive redness, swelling, pain, or discharge. If you notice these symptoms, contact your technician or a healthcare professional immediately.
Healing Timeline:
Day 1-2: Swelling, redness, and tenderness are common. The eyeliner may appear darker than expected.
Day 3-5: The area may begin to scab, flake, or peel. This is a natural part of the healing process. Do not pick at scabs.
Day 7-10: The healing process should be mostly complete, but some residual flaking might still occur.
Week 2-4: Color may appear lighter and softer as it settles into the skin.
Week 6-8: The final result will be visible after your first healing period. If needed, a touch-up session can be scheduled to refine the look.
